Attendees can get new bike components and learn about bike maintenance, bike fit, and training
/24-7PressRelease/ - BOULDER, CO, October 27, 2006 — VeloSwap is pleased to announce four author events at this weekend's Denver VeloSwap. Four VeloPress authors will answer questions and autograph books on bike maintenance and repair, bike fitting, and training. The Denver VeloSwap is the largest bike swap in the country, drawing over 10,000 swappers and 400 vendors.
Lennard Zinn, VeloNews magazine Technical Editor and master framebuilder, will present a one hour clinic on bike maintenance at the Denver VeloSwap Special Events Stage on Saturday, October 28 beginning at 11:00 a.m. VeloSwap attendees can upgrade their bikes with new components available at VeloSwap and then learn installation, repair, and maintenance techniques at the clinic. Zinn will demonstrate basic, daily maintenance jobs and more advanced tuning work including: brake adjustment, derailleur adjustment, replacing disc and caliper brake pads, cable replacement, and shock service. Best-selling author of several books, including Zinn & the Art of Road Bike Maintenance, Zinn & the Art of Mountain Bike Maintenance and its four hour companion DVD, Zinn is one of the world's leading authorities on bike maintenance and repair.
Andy Pruitt, the top bike fitter for the professional peloton and director of The Boulder Center for Sports Medicine, will answer questions about bike fit and autograph copies of his new book, Andy Pruitt's Complete Medical Guide for Cyclists. The book features a thorough bike fit session and easy-to-follow directions on diagnosing and treating common cycling injuries. Pruitt's book is a must-have for cyclists and bike fitters. Pruitt will be at the VeloGear booth # 70 from 11:00 a.m. until noon.
Dave Brinton, illustrator for VeloNews magazine's popular "At the Back" column, will autograph copies of L s H ros du Velo, his 2007 illustrated calendar. Celebrate 2007 in style with Brinton's personal tribute to the legends of cycling. Twelve great riders of the twentieth century come to life in Brinton's stylish portraits, including The Cannibal, the Badger, the Eagle of Toledo. Brinton will be at the VeloGear booth # 70 from noon until 1:00 p.m..
Gale Bernhardt, a USA Cycling Level 1 coach and the coach for the USA Olympic Triathlon Team in 2004, will answer questions and autograph copies of her bestselling VeloPress books, including Triathlon Training Basics and Workouts in a Binder : Swim Workouts for Triathletes. Bernhardt will also discuss the new edition of her most popular triathlon book, Training Plans for Multisport Athletes, 2nd Ed. Bernhardt will be at the VeloGear booth # 70 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
