/24-7PressRelease/ - BOULDER, CO, November 15, 2006 — Cycling's Golden Age, the stunning photographic celebration of cycling history, will make its California debut at VeloSwap San Francisco, the state's largest consumer cycling and triathlon show. The event will host three California-based sports experts, with a heart rate training coach, a sport psychologist, and a cycling historian. VeloSwap San Francisco is Saturday, November 18 from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the San Francisco Concourse Exhibition Center and will host 200 vendors and 5,000 attendees.

Cycling's Golden Age: Heroes of the Postwar Era, 1946-1967, features hundreds of restored photos, jerseys, and trophies from the San Francisco-based Horton Collection, the world's most astonishing trove of cycling memorabilia. Native Californian author and cycling historian Owen Mulholland will be present to autograph copies of the new book and to answer questions.

Top heart rate training coach Sally Edwards will give two presentations at the VeloSwap. First, she will discuss the benefits and methodology of training with a heart rate monitor. Edwards will give a second presentation on women's triathlon. Edwards is the author of many training books, including the recently published Heart Zones Cycling: The Avid Cyclist's Guide to Riding Faster and Farther and Triathlons for Women. Her training and fitness education company, Heart Zones, is based in Sacramento.

Dr. Jim Taylor is an Ironman triathlete and leading sport psychologist. His workshop, which is based on his book, The Triathlete's Guide to Mental Training, will focus on the six mental factors that most affect performance: motivation, confidence, intensity, focus, emotions, and pain. Taylor will provide simple, proven mental exercises triathletes can use to strengthen their mental skills. Taylor's practice is based in San Francisco.
