/Bicycling News Articles/ - BEND, OR, December 29, 2007 - Sunnyside Sports, a Bend Oregon bike shop announced the donation of over 100 bikes this Holiday season to the Kids on Bikes program. Kids on Bikes is an organization that provides new bicycles for needy children in Central Oregon. Last year Sunnyside Sports help donate 40 bicycles to local kids, and this year they surpassed that number by facilitating the donation of 131 new bicycles.

Kids on Bikes organizers were very grateful to Sunnyside Sports for their efforts. By late November organizer, Karen Breese, said that, "Thanks to the 'elves' at Sunnyside Sports we're already a quarter of the way to our goal!"

Owner, Don Leet replied, "Giving bikes to children whose parents cannot afford them, is the best part of Christmas. Bicycles are the greatest enabler of independence and pure joy that a child can own. We are glad that the products we sell can bring so much happiness. "
