The Nautica 2008 Triathlon brought out some big contenders...


/Bicycling News Articles/ - SAN DIEGO, CA, September 17, 2008 - The Nautica Malibu Triathlon took place on Saturday, September 13 and Sunday, September 14, 2008. Over 4,000 athletes raced among some celebrity contenders like Jennifer Lopez and Matthew McConaughey.
The race offered two courses, says Sami Tauber, CEO of BikeWear World LLC, an Olympic distance race featuring a 1.5K swim, 40K bike, 10K run and a sprint distance race of a .5 mile swim, 18mile bike and 4mile run. The 2008 Nautica Malibu Triathlon presented by Toyota, partners with the Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles.
The Childrens Hospital Los Angeles Mission is quite fascinating, says Tauber. They strive to make a difference in the lives of children, adolescents and their families by integrating medical care, education and research to provide the highest quality care and service to their community. Tauber also mentions that, "the goal and vision of the Hospital will to become the best pediatric medical centers in the world known for advancing research and providing definitive diagnosis and treatment for our diverse community of children and adolescents with complex diseases."
