FORT MYERS, FL, March 20, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Fort Myers coach and certified trainer, Angie Ferguson along with the Fort Myers Strength Training Team Geared Up, will be competing in the New Orleans 70.3 Iron Man Race. As part of the team's mission to spread goodwill and positively impact communities they visit, they are collecting clothing, hygiene and baby care items to take with them to New Orleans and deliver to families still living in makeshift housing and tents and who are still in need post-Katrina.
Says Ferguson, Owner and Founder of Geared Up!, "We want to make a positive impact on the communities we visit and this gives the race so much more purpose. This is much more than about swimming, biking and running (although we do like to do those well too), but it's about helping people in need and giving back."
The New Orleans 70.3 Iron Man Race will be held on April 18, 2010 which involves a 1.2-mile swim, 56-mile bike ride and a 13.1-mile run. If you would like to help out or make a donation, please contact Geared Up at (239) 246-2920 or visit www.GearedUp.Biz.
